Handle time - API end point

I want to access the data used to calculate handle time for my team which to my understanding isn’t included in the fivetran schema that I’m currently using to connect to the database. Which API end point do I need to interact with to get this? I understand the logic used to calculated handle time but what are the fields (i.e. date, interval) used called and how can I find them?

A bug with Front Context

Hello! I encountered a problem where https://dev.frontapp.com/reference/plugin-sdk-context doesn’t work as expected. Here I depicted a plugin usage scenario that went wrong.After page reloading the plugin is opened by default, and we see only 1 email attached to the user. At this moment, the issue is not visible. Next, we’re navigating to the Contact Details tab to check how many emails the user has in real. And we’re confusing that the user has 2 emails, not 1 as plugin Context said.  However, upon returning to the plugin, it correctly displays the information with 2 emails.To read this information I use  context.conversation.recipient.contact.handles Please take a look this bug, it causes problems in building the plugin.1st  - A plugin is open 2nd - Contact Details is open 3nd - A plugin is open AGAIN

Chat integration with azure logic

Hello, I would like to ask if it is possible to display the typing indicator while waiting for a response from the API, and secondly, how can I authorize the client logging in to the chatbot via SMS?

Can't make a new app on front.com settings?

The first two steps in the documentation to make an app are to go to settings, click on company, and then click developers. However, I can’t see developer as an option and nothing appears on the search bar either when I search for developer. I have been granted admin permission from the company (received it a few hours ago). Sorry if this is a really silly question to ask just no idea how to continue from here.

Expo (react-native) integration?

Are you planning to add support for Expo for React Native in the future?Our team uses Expo to build and ship our mobile app, and we’ve historically used Intercom (which already has an Expo plugin). We’re considering switching to Front but the lack of Expo support makes the potential switch a big headache.

Is it really not possible to give a API created Teammate Group access to a workspace via the API?

initially I thought adding the inbox access to the newly created teammate group would work but I get an error that Team access is required to link to team inboxes. I find it odd that I can create a teammate group via the API but cant actually add inbox permissions without a manual step in between? Any insight would be appreciated, just want to make sure I am not missing something.  Thank you!

Searching conversations by multiple inboxes

We have a Front integration that involves fetching conversations within a timeframe from selected inboxes, at the moment we paginate through the conversation search endpoint for each inbox ID. However, to ensure that we fetch all the conversations in that timeframe it would be much easier for us if the inbox filter was treated as one of the `OR` filters (from, to, cc, bcc) so that we could filter `inbox:A inbox:B after:<date> before:<date>`

Is there a way to link to compose an SMS?

I’m looking for a way to include a link that users can click on to compose a new Twilio SMS in Front. Ideally it would work similar to clicking the phone number on a contact record (where it opens a compose window with the To: field already pointing to the phone number.  Is this possible today? It would be great if it was possible to just have a link like app.front.com/compose?type=sms&to=1234567891 but I’m also open to using the core API to create a new conversation and then link to that conversation.

Hide chat button on init and every time on close widget

I want to have my own button placed on page, on click it opens chat widget. And when chat is closed, again set iframe to 1px height and width. Conversation assigned to an API key

I created an API key: https://app.frontapp.com/settings/developers/tokensI use that API key to create an emailSometime that email is assigned to that API key like it’s a teammate, but sometime it doesn’t. I didn’t even knew that we could assign a conversation to an API key.I expect that email to be assigned to no one.

Unable to change draft's body from composer plugin

Hello, I'm developing a plugin for composer mode and I need to edit the current draft.As I understand from looking at the documentation, I need to make an API call with the message id of the draft in the url which is "msg_" but from the context in composer mode what I get is a draft id like "dra:***".I thought about making an API call first to list the messages of a conversation since I do get the conversation id from the context and from there extract the msg_ of the message if it has a draft. The problem I find is when there are several active drafts in a conversation since I only want to edit the draft of the user who is using the plugin.Is there any way to get the msg_ of the current draft through the context in composer mode?Thanks very much in advance.

Custom Headers

Hello there! Is it possible to include custom headers in the message when a draft is created?We are trying to uniquely identify messages and conversations across multiple applications when a draft is created and when we receive a response.We tried embedding a hidden tag in the body, but the tag can be removed.Also, the company does not want to utilize Front Tags since those are application-specific. Thanks in advance,Raul

NEW BUG : Create message creates draft instead of message

We have been using this endpoint for creating & sending messages via Front for a year now :https://api2.frontapp.com/channels/{channel_id}/messagesAll our messages created via this end point yesterday were created as Draft instead of sending. We have not made any changes.Could you please investigate ? Our token access scope is Shared resources

How to get API inbox ID from URL Inbox ID

We’re building an integration that makes use of Application Webhooks and would like to configure some logic based on the originating inbox. We’re running into a challenge getting inbox IDs. Notably, the UI and API use different, incompatible IDs. UI ID: 30231326 API ID: inb_123In particular, we’d like to be able to use the UI ids to configure these filters since it’s what our customers are familiar with (or they can simply drop a link that we pull the ID out of). Problem is we can’t figure out a way to match up a UI ID with the API ID.Alternative, we considered building some sort of “Inbox Picker” in our app, but want to avoid this for several reasons: Two Inbox can have the same name, so we need a means of disambiguating inboxes.  Further, the API response is pretty limited so we’re not sure how we’d even help users understand the difference. Building a UI “Picker” component is a lot more work.  In our other integrations (non-Front integrations), it’s not uncommon for customers to se

What's the recommended approach for developing Application Requests?

I’m in the process of building an integration for our application. We’re not Front customers, but our customers are Front customers.I setup a trial account, but I’m running into issues with many development workflows - key integration features are gated behind paywalls. I’ve built a bunch of integrations lately. It’s not uncommon to have premium features gated, but this is the first time I’ve run into basic integration functionality being gated for developers. Generally, companies are limiting abuse by keeping developer accounts to, say, 3 or less users. but generally allow most of the features to be available.Further, I don’t have a simple way to simply sign up for a paid account. Once the credit card comes out, the vendor review process comes out. I’d really like to avoid that.Here’s my use case:We have an AI tool that we integrate into our customer’s ticketing environments. How long does the "Partnering With Front" process take?

We're in the process of building out a Front integration and trying to set expectations with customers of when it will be ready. Specifically, we want to get this in the hands of customers quickly. We’re trying to decide if we should have them setup “internal” OAuth clients while we wait for the partner review process to finish.I’m curious if you could provide a ballpark estimate of how long it will take to review and approve an app once I submit it for review?  Days, weeks, months?

Email links within mail content

We have a saved Message Template for logins to our system that we send out frequently, we have noticed that when we paste in the username to the template within the body of the email it is changing the link behind it to an old customers email address. Any ideas why this might be happening or how we can stop it..  We paste in the new customer email address on the line Your Username is .. (eg email@email.co.uk) it shows the correct email address but on sending, it is changing the mailto link behind it to another email address beginning with info@. So when the end user then copies the email their side if tells them the credentials are wrong because it copies the info@ email address.Any suggestions gratefully received.

Chat history showing string HTML

Hi TeamWe are integrating front chat to our website. So for its good but we are facing 2 problems that we are trying to fix.First one is related to showing the previous chats we have built flows and for some flows we have been seeing escaped html spans in the chat history. Please see the screenshot attached. From what I understand this happens when we usually follow multi choice question with a message and it shows span in the conversation historySecond issue we are facing is that sometimes when we look at the conversations page. It doesn’t show the last message in the conversation instead it shows first message or second last in the conversation which might confuse the users.Looking forward to hear from you,Thanks and RegardsGlen

Can I package Application Object Rules into a published application?

I’m trying to add application objects to my published application. I need users from other companies who install my application to be able to set it up with as little configuration steps as possible.  I was trying to follow the Logistics TMS Guide, and I was able to set up Application Objects, but I found that I had to create a rule to trigger the App Object whenever a new message came in.  Does that mean that my users would have to manually create the rule for the Application Object to be added to incoming messages? Is there any way to build this logic into my published application so it automatically gets set up when the app is installed?

HELP: Creating a historical monthly Conversation ID / Tag report (by inbox)

Hi all — I’m not a developer, I’m a sales guy (apologies) - so that should be the problem right there.  Anyway, I can’t loop in our dev team due to strategic constraints, and I’m trying to build a simple reporting workflow using the Front API.Goal:Generate a report that lists: Conversation ID Shared inbox name(s) Tags Grouped by Month and Year, based on when the conversation first arrived (i.e. was created). I'd like to use this for historical reporting — so I need to pull conversations created in previous months, like March 2025, February 2025, etc.From what I understand, this means: Using the /conversations endpoint Possibly filtering or grouping by created_at But I’m running into issues — even when I try filtering with something like created:[YYYY-MM-DD TO YYYY-MM-DD] (or manually filtering the created_at values after retrieval), I only return conversations with today’s date, nothing from prior days or weeks.Key question:👉 What’s the best way to reliably retrieve conversation

System Variables in Connectors

Hello.  I am looking for any suggestions on how to use system variables in Connectors.  I have a moderate amount of comfort working with APIs.  I have a Connector set up and working - POST requests are working and creating records in our third party app without issue.I cannot seem to be able to figure out how to pass system variables through our POST request.  I can create dynamic variables in the Connectors, but these do not seem able to access basic system data.  I have tried every variation I can think of - {{user.name}}, user.name, etc. but all this does is pass {{user.name}}, user.name, etc.to the created record.  I’m hopeful system variables can be passed through the Connectors and I am just missing something very obvious.  Any input is welcomed and appreciated.  Thank you!

content security policy with strict-dynamic

I’m trying to use ‘strict-dynamic’ for my ‘script-src’ content security policy.I have a nonce set up in my page where I include the Front chat widget script: <script nonce="random nonce here" type="text/javascript" src='https://chat-assets.frontapp.com/v1/chat.bundle.js'></script>but it appears that that chat.bundle.js script dynamically loads app.bundle.js, which leads to a CSP violation in Chrome:Refused to load the script 'https://chat-assets.frontapp.com/v1/app.bundle.js?v=840fb872' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'self' 'strict-dynamic' chat-assets.frontapp.com 'nonce-9a6157311c94f2a96914fe5ac561d6fc'". Note that 'strict-dynamic' is present, so host-based allowlisting is disabled. Note that 'script-src-elem' was not explicitly set, so 'script-src' is used as a fallback.Is there a way to use strict-dynamic with the Front chat widget?
