Variable in signatures using CoreAPI to send messages

Hello,When using the Core API to create a new conversation and signature has dynamic variables such as {{user.name}}, it appears that it does not populate with the user name and just sends exactly that text {{user.name}}Is this a bug?If yes do you have some time line then it will be fixed?

How can I update the external ID of a Front Account after it has been created?

I understand that the external ID can be set when creating an account, but I need to update the external ID after the account has been created. The documentation does not mention how to update an external ID. I attempted to patch the update using 'external_id', but this approach was unsuccessful. One possible workaround is to automate the process of deleting the account and recreating it with the correct external ID, although I would prefer to avoid this method.

How can I get the tag id for a tag if I only know the tag name?Other than list all the tags with the API https://dev.frontapp.com/reference/list-tags and then search the tag name one by one, if there is any other way to do this?

Sort conversations in Search endpoint

Hi! I'm currently working on a use case within my company where we need to list conversations of a specific recipient, sorted by creation date. While the Search conversations endpoint seems promising and returns the created_at field, the conversations aren't sorted accordingly. Is there a way to sort conversations by created_at field in Search conversations endpoint? I'm unable to use the List conversations endpoint due to the need to filter conversations by recipient. Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Body Did Not Satisfy Requirements -- Incoming Messages on Custom Channel

I’m trying to receive incoming messages over a custom channel. I created the custom channel in my Front instance and copied the channel id from the Incoming API Endpoint. Add tag via link? (Kind of RSVP)

Hi there!I’m looking for a smart way how to catch-up again with customers later - if they would love to.We frequently get request from customers e.g. where they can buy our products (if out of stock).Out team replies that the given product is currently out of stock but will be available again soon.We would love to give the customer the choice:"If you would like to be notified as soon as the product is available, click this LINK."Kind of RSVP. If the customer clicks the link, Front should somehow add a dedicated TAG to the conversation (or put the customer contact to a list or anything else). Our goal is that we can easily find, follow up and inform those customers later. I can imagine of a lot of similar scenarios for this: feature requests, keep-me-posted on delays, RSVP, etc.How can this be solved best?ThanksPaul

Open API core-api.json does not build valid java

I’m trying to use this Open API json file to generate Java client code to call Front’s API. I’m using maven and the openapi-generator-maven-plugin version 6.2.1.The first time I tried to do this, it failed with this message:-attribute components.schemas.KnowledgeBaseArticleResponse.items is missingI fixed this by adding"items": { "type": "string"},to line 2590.Then I tried again. It failed because the Java code is not valid. There's errors in a number of files, like EventResponseSourceData. Has anyone had success generating Java client code using the above mentioned file?

Sidebar plugin: add allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox to iframe sandbox

With the current sandboxing rules if you have a link that opens in a new window (which is allowed) using `target=”_blank”` the window opens but it is restricted to the same sandbox as the original iFrame. Adding `allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox` should allow that new window to break out of the sandbox. This is useful because once you are out of the sidebar iframe allowing confirm and alert pop ups no longer has the risk that they will be confused with popups from the container page. Allowing these as well as downloading etc on the new page would be useful in a number of cases. I understand that you should be able to use the SDK and the `openUrl` function that should function similarly, but depending on the application and use case updating the `target` on urls could be simpler solution. I can add this to the ideas board as well, but this seems like more of a bug or oversight since the sandbox already includes `allow-popups`.

Cc recipients limit at 21 when cerating draft with Front API

When using the API to POST a new email draft, I receive the following error if the recipient list is longer than 21 addresses:{    "_error": {        "status": 400,        "title": "Bad request",        "message": "Body did not satisfy requirements",        "details": [            "body.cc: should be an array"        ]    }} Does anyone know why this is the case?Thank you.

Rule that trigger when email attachment is too heavy

I want to create rule that trigger when there is a failure to deliver an email. One of those case is when we send an email with attachment heavier than 20Mo.I created those rules, but they don’t trigger when I send an email with an attachment heavier than 20Mo. Any idea why?

hello community,      I have been gone through all possible ways to create call and voicemail logging in front but couldn’t find relevant way, In conversation i couldn’t find comment object. Google Sign In in Front App

We Are trying to implement a Plugin using the Google Sign Button. The problem is however that the sign does not work because Google is trying to open a new window. That of course doesn't work in the plug-in within the Front app.  Hence, my question is if anyone else has built such an integration and how did they manage to integrate Google sign in within the Front app plugin?

Looking for a front expert to set up our front app

Hello we’ve just started using front and we don’t have the time to figure out what we don’t know what we don’t know. Is there a partner directory or anyone who’s doing consulting paid consulting?We’re an IT business and have no issues spending cash on software implementation but Front doesn’t seem to be offering this service. Please help it’s a fantastic tool I’m sure but oh boy it takes a while to figure things out!

Updating Messages/Conversations

We’ve recently implemented an incoming message webhook. We’re able to authenticate and consume the messages with no issues. One thing we’d like our application to do is to update the message (or conversation) in Front so that it appears to have been read, archived, or deleted based on the users settings in our application. We’re currently attempting to do this using the “Update Conversation” endpoint. Here is an example.url: “"https://api2.frontapp.com/conversations/cnv_19jthp3g"body: {"assignee_id":"tea_6a2to","status":"archived"} We’ve also tried this using a body like this:{"assignee_id":"tea_6a2to","inbox_id":"inb_ak1l8","status":"archived","tag_ids":[],"custom_fields":[]} We are using PATCH and getting a response of 204 -  NoContent but we are not seeing any changes to the message or conversation in Front. We’re hoping for some direction on what we may be doing wrong. Is there a better approach to updating the message directly instead of the conversation or are we missing some oth

How to understand created_at vs. waiting_since

Hi folks,I’m new to the Front API and am trying to understand how to use the two conversation date fields created_at and waiting_since. I recently pulled a conversation from Front in which there are four messages sent between 16:53:05 and 17:04:14 on March 28, 2022. As expected, waiting_since is equal to 1648487054, i.e., Mon Mar 28 2022 17:04:14 GMT+0000, which does correspond to the “oldest unreplied message”. But created_at has the value of 1706893362.369 – Fri Feb 02 2024 17:02:42 GMT+0000. That doesn’t make sense to me. Am I missing something? Is there a field that stores the true created_at value, or do we just need to pull the timestamp of the first message? Cheers,Matt

File Download from Front Plugin

Hi all!We’ve built a sidebar plugin that serves up relevant information to our users about the email that they’re viewing.One of the things we’d like to do is allow them to download documents related to the email.We have an API that we’re reaching out to that returns the file in base-64. We’ve been unable to serve the file up to the user to download as the iframe the plugin is in doesn’t allow popups or downloads.We’ve considered temporarily saving the file to blob storage and then using the openUrl function to access it but that seems like an expensive solution.Any insight would be appreciated!

Reduce the amount of spurious warnings from Front Chat

I installed Front Chat on my website today, which is great so far, except that it’s exceptionally noisy in the developer console. It announces itself, it announces it’s using something called bugsnap, it spews out a load of SameSite and Partitioned cookie warnings, a few debugging messages from Ably, tells me about “frontChatChannelToken”.All of this makes real warnings a lot harder to see. What’s going on here? Can I switch off the non-cookie debug messages at all? Is there a “I’m in Production, WTF” flag I can switch on?

Webhook Processing Questions

Hello, We have an active integration for pushing messages into Front and we are trying to wrap up a webhook to receive incoming messages from Front. We have a few questions. 1. The Authorization.Id that is coming through in the request doesn't mean anything to us at the moment. It’s not clear how this is created or where it comes from. We did see; however, that the Payload.Conversation.Assignee.Id is the same value we are already storing on our side when setting up the Integration to send messages. This looks like an easy way for us to identify who the message is for. Will this value always be populated when we're getting messages in the webhook or is it possible to get a message without an Assignee? 2. The attachment object in the payload does not contain any byte or steam data but it does have a URL. When we go to this URL we get an unauthorized response. Is there another API endpoint we should be using to access Front Attachments we receive in the Incoming Message payload? 3. Part o
