How come we are unable to link anything and everything? I have 2 conversations linked, but I want to link a 3rd conversation with the non-original, but can’t.

Hi @tmusselman!

Thanks for confirming. Linked conversations use a star topology: one original conversation (the hub) with multiple related conversations (spokes). This keeps navigation simple—you start from the original to see all related conversations—and ensures a clear primary conversation.

This means you can’t link two related conversations to each other; all related conversations must link to the same original. This prevents deeper hierarchies that would complicate navigation and merging.

With that said, we appreciate you sharing this feedback. It helps us understand how the feature is used and will inform future improvements.

Hi @tmusselman!

Happy to clarify linked conversation behavior. While my insight into the conversations you are trying to link is limited here, I believe the following is what you may be running into:

It is not possible to link a conversation to another conversation that is already linked to an original conversation. e.g. A child conversation cannot be used as a parent/original in a second linked conversation group.

Correct. That is the issue I am running into.

Why is it not possible to link two child conversations? What is the purpose of having to determine a “parent/original” vs. “child”?
