Question

MCP does not expose rule-generated comments

The MCP only provides human-generated comments when reading a conversation. We have many rules and automations which leave comments back, which do not seem to be exposed and should be, as they're important overall context of a ticket.

Hey @tyler.fontaine, thanks for reporting this. On first glance, this seems like a bug. Our PM has added this to our tracking list for investigation.

Hey @tyler.fontaine !

Curious if you could show us the prompt and the answer you’re getting from your used LLM with Front’s MCP. We’ve tested this on our end, and it actually works.

Thanks again for the feedback

tyler.fontaine

Well, I would love to have tried this again, but now SSO login isn’t apparenlty letting met set the right grants, though it did before. I just get this, not the actual grants.

The settings for the MCP are just all Read operations:

@tyler.fontaine Do you see any difference if you deselect Access resources in the OAuth feature? We’re working through an issue where having multiple feature access options in the OAuth client causes unpredictable behavior during authorization. You only need MCP Server selected to honor the resource grants, so maybe that will clear your issue.

tyler.fontaine

I can't, actually. It will unselect, but not give me the option to save. I even deleted my original app where it was also selected, on seeing the note on only MCP selection in the docs. When I re-created, I explicitly didn't select Access Resources, but it was enabled anyway.

Thanks Tyler, I’ve reported this bug. It might be related to one we’re already tracking. I appreciate your patience while we sort this out!

tyler.fontaine

It wouldn't be a beta if something didn't happen :) Thanks, Javier

Hey @tyler.fontaine, a fix for the grant issue has been released. Do things look good on your end?

Also, please let us know if you can recreate the issue where human comments are visible but rule-generated comments are not

tyler.fontaine

Grant issue is fixed! Trying to reproduce the other issue now.

tyler.fontaine

Okay, that issue reproduces. read_conversation does appear to show there is a comment, but not the content of it.

Here's what Claude says it sees:
