Question

Title: Best practices for keeping Front workflows simple as a new admin

I'm currently working through Front onboarding and have only seen the platform through the training exercises so far.

One thing I'm curious about is how experienced teams decide when to create new rules, tags, or automations versus keeping things manual. The examples in training make sense, but I imagine real environments can become complex pretty quickly.

For those who manage Front long-term, what are some "lessons learned" or best practices you wish you had known when setting up workflows for the first time?

    Hi Jason,

Great question. A good approach is to start small and automate tasks your team handles the same way every time, like routing certain messages or applying a tag for reporting. If something still needs context or judgment, I recommend to keep it manual until a clear pattern develops.

It also helps to keep rules focused, use clear names, and review them occasionally. Old rules and duplicate tags can pile up quickly. You do not need to get everything right from the start. Most teams adjust their setup over time as they learn what works best for them.
