Hello!

I wanted to create a rule with a ‘Rule set data’ using keywords to assign to a specific teammate who are on Front, but there are some keyword rules that should forward the email to a teammate who are not on Front.

Is there a way to create one rule,

  1. Where keywords are triggered and assigns to a teammate

                                or

  1. Keywords are triggered but forwards the email to a teammate who are not on Front.

or is creating two different rules is my only option?

Hey Nomi!

Phoebe here with the Front team!

Our team recently launched branching rules, which allows you to define multiple action paths from a single trigger, depending on different scenarios.

So, you could use a branching rule to say: If keyword A, assign to teammate A. Or, If keyword B, forward to email@domain.com.

Hi Phoebe!

Thank you for the reply, for branching rules can I use multiple keywords to assign to different people?

Yes! I’d suggest playing around with branching rules and using the rule test feature to confirm the rule is what you’re wanting! https://help.front.com/en/articles/2431104

What are the limitation we have for branching? or have many branches are we able to assign or forward to multiple users?

Hello Nomi,

The short answer is: Our documentation does not specify a hard numerical limit on how many branches a user can create. The limit is functional, based on what conditions are allowed in a branch. There is no strict numerical limit on the number of people you can assign to or forward to within a single branching rule.

Our help article here shows branching rules limitations: https://help.front.com/en/articles/3719744#are_there_any_limitations

By avoiding these limitations, you can reliably combine your assignment and forwarding logic into a single, comprehensive rule. I suggest using the Rule Test feature (as Sadie mentioned) to confirm your priority order works exactly as you intend!
