Hello, is there a way to activate notifications in the top bar of new front like we had in the old front? This is a super important feature for us.

Hi Max,

I’m Evan, one of the support engineers at Front.

The legacy notification center had been deprecated prior to the new Front design.  A few companies may have had exceptions, but our broader engineering philosophy is moving away from “hidden” versions of Front enabled by feature flags.  The redesign has allowed us to follow through with removing previously deprecated features.

We don’t plan to bring back the notification center as this change aligns with our existing philosophy: working from a single place — “Open” — helps ensure nothing slips through the cracks. We’ve found this model works better for most teams in the long run.

Hi Evan, That is quite disappointing. The lightning bolt notification allowed for prioritization. I start my day as I assume most people do by working on the oldest emails first. If someone tags me or sends me a message within an email it appears at the top of my inbox. This results in me not getting to it quickly. I understand the point of “open” and think Front is a great tool for emails and large teams but the removal of this feature seems like an oversight. Is there a request feature section that users can vote on that I can request this feature back?
