How’s everyone feeling about the new update? Personally, I’m struggling to find the value of the changes compared to the old model.

  1. Search bar moved, requiring extra clicks
  2. New layout sorting by “Open” and “Done”, then broken out by assigned/subscribed/inbox seems unhelpful. Additional time required to find archive.
  3. I like tasks--nice that the new layout allows filtering by tasks and discussions, however--
  4. Discussions as a standalone category was nice.
  5. Dropdown list for Inbox/Calendar/Settings/Analytics seems too hidden, easier when the icons were listed out at the top.
  6. Objects condensed: I built a dynamic variable automatically linking a URL to the top of emails, but that is now condensed into an object icon instead of displaying the link at the very top.

I always give updates a chance a commit instead of reverting to old settings. I’m hoping its an evolving update, I realize this is the first iteration.

Search bar..? Will you now also kill the search bar in mobile UI?

I appreciate that Front is making efforts to address the overwhelming amount of user feedback. However, making all of these updates to the new version so quickly seems to be like a complicated approach destined to cause more problems.

Wouldn’t the simplest solution be to revert back to the old version and enhance it from there?

It seems almost all customers are in favor of the old version. While I am “used to” the new version, I’ve yet to see any clearly defined benefits. Workflows are much slower and it is visually exhausting on the eyes.

Every user in my company is upset and overwhelmed with the new Front updates. The updates require more clicks therefore adding time on to each action as well as requiring the users to spend additional time finding the action they need. Our Team has incorporated Discussions into our daily protocol and having to search for them each time is exhausting and the most user unfriendly part of the new experience. Considering the astronomical expense of FRONT, you would think that they would have taken more customer use into consideration. I can speak for my entire company that there is NO VALUE in this update to the users. I hope the FRONT decision makers take all of the user responses into consideration immediately.

There hasn’t been much comment on this thread for a few days but echoing the above.

My team is very frustrated with the changes - some were already not happy they “had” to use Front and this makes it nearly impossible for those users.

Is anything going to be done to support the people screaming for help that they want the old UI available while the new UI is improved? It’s such a drastic change that not only doesn’t make things easier, it actively makes working in the platform more difficult.

Personally, I can adapt but I have folks on my team who can’t - and shouldn’t have to. Will be seriously considering an alternative.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. They’ve given all the typical “we’re not going to do anything about it” responses. Somehow they have all these complaints they’re “dealing with” despite having consulted with “thousands” of users before making these completely unnecessary changes.

I’m in the process of moving to an alternative, would suggest everyone else do the same. Front’s price is astronomical compared to some of the other platforms and they just screwed us and aren’t going to change anything back.

I am especially upset because we JUST renewed our contract right before this change came out. It feels like a bait and switch. I feel like their marketing of this massive change to existing users was terribly handled - I wasn’t even made aware of it coming until a user told me his UI updated. I have unsubscribed from traditional marketing emails but this feels like something my account manager should have reached out about well in advance.

Yeah. I really miss the days when you just bought software, owned it, and it worked the same as the day you bought it. The constant pulling the rug out from under us as SaaS users is tiring. Endless bugs. Design changes. Feature removals. Front was actually one of the better ones and in my mind justified the price which always seemed a little steep. Now I’m done.

Can @front please put the tags option un-nested, extra clicks that aren’t beneficial here..

⁉️ Feedback you appear to be completely ignoring:

Search Bar, Search Bar, Search Bar: Bring it back as it was much more functional on the prior version.

Delete Button: Hiding this behind the 3 dot menu is ridiculous and a waste of people’s time.

Tag Button: Also hidden for no apparent reason but to make us click more.

Discussions: These need to have their own box, as they always have. Hiding them under “subscribed” is not helpful to anyone.

Archived and Snoozed Messages: Should remain accessible within the inbox you are working in, rather than having to separately go to the “Done” or “Later” box.

Compose Button: Two clicks to start a new email (looks like we might get this most basic of features back in Q3)

This is off the top of my head. Others, please add to the list as you see fit. Hopefully with continued feedback we can get some attention.
