Hi Brandy! Isaiah here from the Front Support team
Thanks for reaching out about this. Currently, there isn’t an option to predefine the To, CC, or BCC fields when creating a message template. That said, we have an existing feature request that you can upvote for here!
Feel free to click the Vote button on the left-hand side of the feature request to tell our team how important this update would be for your team. You'll then be subscribed to receive email updates if a feature that you submitted or upvoted is developed and shipped!
Thanks again for writing in, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any other questions!
Great question, Brandy!
While message templates in Front don’t currently allow you to preselect recipients, a good workaround is to create a shared draft instead. This way, you can pre-fill the recipients, subject, and message body, and just hit send when you need to send the email.
Another option is to use rules to automate sending emails to a specific group at a scheduled time, depending on your workflow.
It would definitely be a useful feature to have recipient pre-selection in templates! You might want to suggest it in the Front Community’s feedback section—Front’s product team is always open to great ideas.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you’d like more details on setting up a shared draft or rule.
Luisa,
I am a big fan of rules, but with the reorganization of the plans a year or two ago...I lost the legacy plan I was on and there is a big shift in the price point to upgrade the plans. I probably won’t be at that level of need for at least another year, so shelling out the money means I use Zapier to automate what Front doesn’t let me do once the rules quota is used up.
I will have to look at this shared draft idea. I don’t think I have used that option before.
Thanks,
Brandy
