Hi Front team,

We’d love to request a feature that allows users to tag entire teammate groups (e.g., @payments-team, @customer-support) in comments or notes within a conversation.

Right now, we can only tag individuals, which limits visibility and creates communication gaps when collaboration is needed across functions or shifts. Especially in high-volume scenarios or when handling complex bookings and endorsements, being able to tag a group ensures nothing slips through the cracks, even if specific teammates are out of office.

Suggested functionality:

  • Allow admin-created groups to be mentionable with an @ symbol.

  • Teammate groups should receive a notification, just like individual mentions.

  • Group tags should be manageable from the team settings.

This small enhancement would significantly improve team coordination and reduce manual steps in reassignments or follow-ups.

Thanks so much for considering!

Hi Jett,

Thank you for the suggestion! We appreciate the thought you put into your feedback.

Currently, you can notify all teammates in a shared inbox by using @all in your comment, which alerts everyone with access to that inbox. Additionally, if you're on the Growth plan or higher, you can create custom @mention shortcuts using rules. For example, setting up a rule to trigger @cx in a comment can notify a specific group of teammates. This approach allows you to effectively tag groups, even though there isn't a built-in feature for arbitrary group mentions. For more details, you can refer to this article: https://help.front.com/en/articles/2065.

All that being said, I understand that it is still considered a workaround, and we actually have an open feature request for similar to your idea in our Product Ideas Portal which is accessible to all users: https://front.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PRD-I-2197

Feel free to click the Vote button on the left-hand side of the feature request to tell our team how important this update would be for your team. You'll then be subscribed to receive email updates if a feature that you submitted or upvoted is developed and shipped! Exciting 🎊
