We’re bringing back inbox and workspace indicators in the conversation list! You might remember this feature in its previous iteration as the colored corner or dog ear on conversations.

Your feedback was clear: this information is valuable, but in different ways for different teams. For some, it's a critical part of a daily workflow, while for others, it's just a nice-to-have.

To give you more flexibility, we're bringing these back as settings. Admins will have the choice to show or hide this information, tailoring the experience to fit your team's needs.

Additionally, we heard that the conversation timestamp and time goal timer are important to see in the conversation list. To make both accessible, we’re making that field interactive. You’ll be able to click to toggle between relative time, exact time, and the time goal timer.

Excited to hear what you think!

This is critical to our success. We have several teams that use multiple inboxes for sorting work and teams that support each other - having the ability to see which inbox at a glance is the main feature the team asks me about regularly.

Will we need to go in and change the setting for every inbox when this is pushed to production?

@caitlin.crouse Thanks for the feedback! We’re planning for this to be a company-level setting, i.e. it will apply to every inbox once toggled on.

Very excited to see the option to toggle to timestamp or relative time back again! Thanks for listening :)

This is awesome! I found it super helpful, not critical, but I do miss it still.

Thank you! That is much more functional than having to manage it in all of our inboxes. I could see some teams wanting to manage it at the inbox level, but our use case would benefit more from the company level setting.

I would like this! I often hear users struggling to see which workspace they are in. So having this quick view would really help.

We are looking forward to this. The teams that are in multiple workspaces miss it. The ones who didn't use it didn't notice it was gone so they wont notice if its back giving the benefit to those who do need it.

It will be great to see the dogeared view return - it has been missed.

One additional workflow enhancement that would help our team: When a user tries to @mention someone or assign a conversation while it’s still in their personal inbox, Front could:

  • Remind them that the conversation is in a personal inbox, and

  • Suggest moving it to a shared inbox before collaborating.

This would prevent lost visibility, keep teamwork in shared spaces, and ensure conversations aren’t accidentally buried in personal inboxes.

Regarding the toggle to change between relative time, exact time, and the time goal timer. Currently it's made that it only changes for that conversation. To me, it would be great if it applies to all conversations. Don't know how others feel about this?

Also, after a few seconds it switches back to the goal timer?
