It would be great if Views had a simple toggle to turn off the standard Open / Snoozed / Archived sections.

Sometimes we just want one clean list of all conversations that match the filters, without everything being split into three buckets.

Ideally, we could also choose which statuses count toward the View’s conversation total, so the number shown is actually meaningful.

This would make Views much clearer for both users and admins, especially for monitoring or reporting.

I agree 100% with the possible toggle to turn off the standard Open/  Snoozed/ Archived sections.

I completely agree that having the ability to select which statuses count towards the view would significantly help our team gain a quick overview of the number of pending emails for a specific view.

As of now, it shows nothing when, in reality, we have open emails under the assigned tab.

To me it makes sense for the Counter preferences in the view to match those set by the user.
I don’t think having a different setting for each view would be ideal, as would lead to confusion for many users as the experience would differ across their sidebar. Aligning the counter with their preferences in settings though makes sense

One thing we need to watch out for is consistency across users, on top of what Anthony mentioned. We know that often admins or team leads are creating views to share out with their teams, to help create queues of conversations to tackle. If the counts differ across users based on their preferences, this arguably leads to more confusion because the same view may have different counts.

That being said, I recognize the need for more customizability and will keep this in mind!
