Feature Request/Question - Ability to Archive in Just ONE Inbox

Hi!
We often have emails that are linked or are in two inboxes for our internal teams that work together. Is there anyway to archive an email/ticket in just ONE inbox? The only option that I see if a button that says “Archive in 2 inboxes” but I only want to archive it in my team’s inbox and not the inbox for the other team.
If that isn’t a current feature, can that be added? Basically, an option to toggle and select to only archive in one or the other OR both inboxes.
Thank you!

Hi @hlane Have you checked out this Inbox setting? If you have, please ignore :) https://help.front.com/en/articles/2026

@grit_evy Unfortunately, we have to tag each other and have discussions across the two inboxes - that may be what ends up linking the two emails/tickets. So, once that occurs, we need an option to allow us to ONLY archive the email in one of the shared inboxes instead of archiving in both shared inboxes.

Is there a reason the conversation needs to live in two inboxes?

Have you tried using linked tasks or discussions? This allows you to create a separate object to hold any cross-team interactions but avoids linking the original conversations together.

Regardless, I hear you on the request and will track it.

@conniechen Hello! Yes, the message lives in two inboxes often due to the client sending an email and including both teams. Each team needs to work on different aspects of the email. Also, sometimes we will tag each other on the message to discuss the client’s needs. Then, one team still needs to work on the email but the other team is done - that is when the issue comes in. One team archives it which archives for both - then we have to keep reopening it but it reopens for the other team as well. Thank you!
