Customization of the sidebar

Hi,

 

Now that I’ve spent some time with the new version and learned about it in the Webinar, I have a suggestion. Since the main focus seems to be the sidebar, could it be configured so that we can customize the items seen? I mean all the items, not just the order. The Webinar mentioned that we will soon be able to hide the Later, Done and Drafts, which is great. I would like the option to select individual items of the upper list, I can see. For me, having sent and drafts visible would be very useful. Later is sometimes used, but done, trash and spam are rarely if ever used or looked at.

    Hi Harry, I had this same want, and then finally figured out that this function already exists. If you click the three dots that appear when you hover over spam, one of the options is “hide in sidebar”.

    I was hoping to just hide parts of the sidebar, not the whole thing.  Not sure I would ever run with the sidebar hidden as how do you keep track of activity? I have a fair number of views and pinned along with shared in my sidebar which are all important to me. Being able to select what is important to me in the top section is what I’m hoping for.

    Hi,

    You are right about editing the sidebar via the dots. How did I miss that! I’ve dropped the trash and spam. Now if they could add done and later.

    It does that. You can select the individual folder (like spam) and selecting “hide in sidebar” removes that one folder from the view.

    Click the three dots next to the folder you want hidden. Select “Hide in sidebar”.

     

    Folder is no longer displayed.

    Further, clicking “edit sidebar” will open a window where you can chose to hide the individual folders in bulk.

    Hi,

     

    You had my hopes up but no. Later, Done and Drafts cannot currently be deselected. The editing currently there is helpful though.
