I’m trying to add application objects to my published application. I need users from other companies who install my application to be able to set it up with as little configuration steps as possible.

I was trying to follow the Logistics TMS Guide, and I was able to set up Application Objects, but I found that I had to create a rule to trigger the App Object whenever a new message came in.

Does that mean that my users would have to manually create the rule for the Application Object to be added to incoming messages? Is there any way to build this logic into my published application so it automatically gets set up when the app is installed?

Thanks for reaching out! So partners are expected to describe any rules that customers need to set up in order to fully configure their Connectors and Application Objects. An in-depth guide on how to create these rules should be included in your setup guide to help streamline the process for your users.

With that said, the idea of automating this setup (having workflows or rules automatically created when an application is installed) is definitely something we've discussed internally. It's definitely on our radar, though it's not something we can support at this time. Today, building templates still involves a lot of manual work and configuration on our backend, so it’s not quite scalable, but it’s an area we’re keeping an eye on.

Hope this helps! And please let me know if you have any other questions.
