Analytics API availability

I was hoping to run some high-level reports through Claude using Front’s Analytics API, but hadn’t realized the Analytics API isn’t exposed in the MCP. Is there a timeline for this?

Here is exactly what I was after:

  • Total inbound message volume by inbox (in a specific calendar month) from the Workload report
  • Topic breakdowns by inbox (in a specific calendar month) from the Topics report
  • Average Response Time from Team Performance (for a specific calendar month)
  • Smart QA / Smart CSAT scores (for a specific month)

Here is what Claude said:
 

The MCP doesn't expose Front's Analytics module (Workload, Topics, Team Performance, Smart QA, Smart CSAT reports) — those live in a separate reporting API that isn't part of the connector we have access to.

    Hi ​@mkonzen  — thanks for the detailed write-up

    You've got it right: the Front MCP server today wraps our Core API for things like conversations, contacts, and messages, but it doesn't yet expose the Analytics/reporting side — so the Workload, Topics, Team Performance, and Smart QA/CSAT numbers aren't reachable through the connector. The data lives in our Analytics API; it just isn't surfaced as MCP tools yet.

    I don't have a timeline to share, but pulling report-level metrics through the MCP is a very reasonable use case, and I'm adding it to our backlog to evaluate. One honest caveat: our Analytics API runs asynchronously — you request a report, then fetch it once it's ready — so there's some design work to make that feel smooth in a chat, which is part of what we'd need to scope. Laying out exactly which metrics you're after is a big help for prioritizing, so thank you for that. We are also working on improving our own Analytics API, so this would come first.

    One last question: How often are you expecting on generating this reports? Is it daily, weekly,...
