Hello-

I am very new to Front.  It seems my company tags people to keep emails all in one place.  Is there a reason that linking them would be a better way? Or does tagging do the same thing.

Thanks

Hi Annie 😁 Welcome to the Front community and thank you for your question!

The difference in use case for Linked Conversations and Tags in Front is rooted in their primary purposes:

  • Linked conversations: Used to create explicit connections between separate threads
  • Tags: Used for categorising, organising, and automating workflows

Linked Conversations are designed to connect conversations that are about a related topic, like a customer request that requires various threads with different providers or stakeholders. This enables Front users to navigate seamlessly between the threads for better context.

Tags, on the other hand, serve as a versatile tool to organise conversations under a singular topic, theme or category. This in turn helps to streamline workflows, and enhance analytics by adding searchable data, for example an “Urgent” tag, or “VIP Customer.”

I hope this helps to clarify the difference between the two features 😊 Please do let me know if you have any additional questions! 🙌
