IP Restrictions

They use IP restrictions to prevent unauthorized users from accessing their emails. The office IP address is included in the allowed list.

However, this option doesn't work for the mobile app because the phone's IP address isn't static. Is there a solution for this?

A potential fix could be allowing access based on the MAC address.

Hi @yidel , the most common solution here is to add a VPN IP to the list of allowable IPs, then force your team to access Front via your VPN when they are not on an approved network.

@jason Can you use a VPN with the Front Mobile app?

Hi @yidel , Yes - the Front mobile apps will work over a VPN connection (provided your VPN isn’t blocking any essential requests). The app won’t connect/integrate with the VPN in any way, or know that it is being used with a VPN. You use a VPN at device network level so all data requests originating from the device are routed through your VPN.

If you’re unsure about how VPNs work, I would suggest checking in with your IT team to learn if this would be an appropriate option for your team.
