We are looking for ways to organize both our personal inboxes and shared inboxes. We would like to be able to see unread messages first/at the top of the inbox. We also would like for shared inboxes to have send settings. We do not want emails to archive when we reply to them.

Hi Kyliea!

Thank you for your questions 😊 Happy to help!

  • Unread messages first
    • In Front, the “Unread” status of a message is dependant to the user themselves and whether they’ve opened and read a conversation. As such, within Shared Inboxes, there isn’t currently a filter or sorting option for “Unread”
However, you can run a quick search on any inbox or view for “is:unread” to display only conversations you haven’t read yet.
There is also a setting in Personal > Preferences to set you individual inbox counters to show Unread instead of Open if you prefer.
  • “Sent” view for shared inboxes
    • There isn't a "Sent" folder as such for shared inboxes. Each Front teammate will see their own "Sent" items in their left-hand sidebar. This covers all messages they've sent on Front, across all inboxes.
For Shared inboxes however, each conversation contains the sent and received messages from that thread, so the sent messages are visible to anyone with access to the inbox.
  • Sending without Archive
    • While archiving as you go is a useful technique for some, it is also possible to leave conversations Open when you reply to them.
Front currently offers four different Sending options within the composer:
      • Send
      • Send & Archive
      • Send Later
      • and Send & Snooze
    • Both, “Send” and “Send Later” will leave the conversation open after sending.
As the above link shows in the bottom sub-section, each teammate can set their Default Sending option in your Personal Preferences.

I hope this helps! 😃

Hi there!

I would highly recommend making use of Inbox Zero, and training your team on the benefits and methodology. Aside from the efficiently, it really helps make the day to day more organized and clutter free!
