Hello everyone,

We are using Front in a B2B context with multiple clients who operate in the same B2C market. As a result, some of their end customers are shared and have the same phone numbers and/or email addresses.

Our issue is that when importing contacts, these shared customers are automatically merged by Front, even though they belong to different accounts and are technically distinct customers. Has anyone encountered a similar situation, and how did you manage this to avoid unwanted contact merges?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi Enzo! Isaiah here from the Support team 👋 Great question and thank you for also writing in to our Support team. I wanted to share our response here in case any other community members run into this same scenario:

As it turns out, there is not a workaround for this. Front does not allow one contact to be imported with the same info for multiple companies.

While this is not currently possible in Front, we have an open feature request for this functionality in our Product Ideas Portal which is accessible to all users:

https://front.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PRD-I-6002

https://front.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PRD-I-6075

Feel free to click the Vote button on the left-hand side of the feature request to tell our team how important this update would be for your team. You'll then be subscribed to receive email updates if a feature that you submitted or upvoted is developed and shipped! Exciting 🎊

Most of the improvements you see to Front come from ideas and suggestions like yours, so thank you for making Front even better!”

Please feel free to reach out with any other questions!
