Can you create shifts without assigning someone to it?

I was thinking of creating shifts for when we have people coming in to work on the weekends they can be temporarily added to the weekend shift. That way others could see who else was working. Is there a better way to handle this? If not, how do you create a shift without having someone assigned to it?

Hi there! Cat here from the Front support team.

When a shift is created, it does need to include at least one active teammate, but I can see how having a flexible shift option could be useful, that’s super interesting 🤔

While this isn’t how we’re able to manage shifts at the moment, I’d recommend adding a request to our Product Ideas Portal if this is something you’d like to see in the future.

I also found a similar idea based around managing shift scheduled via calendar that you might be interested in following: Configure business hours and shifts as a calendar
